He entered <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/03\/04\/sports\/knicks-put-up-fight-but-fall-to-defending-champion-thunder\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Wednesday\u2019 s 103-100 loss to the Thunder <\/a>at Madison Square Garden averaging 30.3 minutes per game, down from 37.6 last year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s what he feels is best,\u201d Hart told The Post before Wednesday\u2019s game. \u201cIf that\u2019s what he sees fit, that\u2019s what he sees fit.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hart had long gotten used to significant minutes under Tom Thibodeau \u2014 his 37.6 minutes per game last year led the NBA. Entering Wednesday, Hart had only surpassed 37 minutes five times this season.<\/p>\n<p>He also recognizes that in the past, there were times when some of those minutes could have \u2014 or should have \u2014 been shaved down.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt takes a little bit of an adjustment,\u201d Hart said. \u201cI think it also depends on how I\u2019m playing. Games last year, the year before, if there was an 82-game season, you\u2019re bound to have bad games. I think some of those bad games, I shouldn\u2019t [have] played as much. You could\u2019ve went to Landry [Shamet], or more minutes for Cam [Payne], something like that. So this year, it takes a little bit getting used to but you\u2019ve got guys like Landry playing extremely well this season, obviously Deuce [McBride] was playing well before he got hurt, we\u2019ve got Jose [Alvarado]. I\u2019m cool with it.
