Los Angeles Lakers<\/a> superstar LeBron James<\/a> had a historic night in Colorado on Thursday, March 6, but NBA<\/a> records were not his only topic of conversation following a seven-point loss to the Denver Nuggets<\/a>. <\/p>\n

James took the referees to task during his postgame interview in the locker room, bemoaning the lack of a whistle on Nuggets big man Nikola Jokic, who James felt fouled him at the basket on a made layup with a little more than four minutes to play in the fourth quarter. <\/p>\n

James made the bucket but hit the deck immediately, grabbing his elbow after tumbling to the ground under the hoop. The bucket cut the lead to four points, though a foul call would have given James an opportunity to make the contest a one-possession affair. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s the same [expletive]. \u2018Marginal,\u2019” James said, per ESPN’s Dave McMenamin<\/a>, citing the officials’ explanation for the no-call. “It\u2019s the same [expletive]. It\u2019s, it\u2019s, it\u2019s \u2026 whatever. That\u2019s all they keep saying is, \u2018marginal.\u2019 I\u2019m so [expletive] tired of that word.”<\/p>\n

James finished the night with 16 points<\/a>, eight assists, five rebounds, three steals and one block. The 41-year-old also shot 7-of-11 from the field and passed Lakers great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the most field goals made in NBA history with 15,838 total across his 23-year career. James added four more made shots to that count before the clock struck zeroes. <\/p>\n

“Just to be able to link my name to being mentioned with some of the greatest to ever play this game has always been humbling and a pretty cool thing,” James said following the contest<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Los Angeles fell to 37-25 on the season with the defeat and currently occupies the No. 6 seed in the Western Conference, 1.5 games behind the Nuggets. <\/p>\n
