A San Antonio man is in critical condition after being shot in the Frost Bank Center parking lot following Thursday\u2019s San Antonio Spurs-Detroit Pistons game, according to authorities. <\/p>\n

Suspect Isaac Anthony Jimenez, 47, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said during a press conference. Jimenez is accused of opening fire after crashing his car into another vehicle and trying to flee the scene. <\/p>\n

Bystanders, including the shooting victim, tried to stop Jimenez from leaving, at which point he opened fire, according to the Salazar. The shooing victim, whom the sheriff described as a 48-year-old San Antonio, man was struck at least twice in the upper body. <\/p>\n

\u201cAt worst, this was going to be a minor crash,\u201d Salazar said. \u201cStick around, do the right thing and handle your business. These guys are not young teenagers. He\u2019s certainly old enough to know better, the suspect. But stick around and handle your minor crash. What\u2019s the worst that\u2019s going to happen? He escalated this situation and the victim tried to do the right thing and get involved \u2014 this guy pulls a gun and then tries to kill somebody.\u201d<\/p>\n

Salazar said his office will execute a search warrant at Jimenez\u2019s address as part of its investigation. <\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s just way beyond what this needs to be,\u201d the sheriff said of the shooting.<\/p>\n
