The Cleveland Cavaliers<\/a> are in the midst of a rare four-day break between Tuesday\u2019s game against the Detroit Pistons<\/a> and Sunday\u2019s game against the Boston Celtics<\/a>. That layoff is coming at a good time, as it may provide an opportunity for some of the injured Cavaliers, including Donovan Mitchell, to return to the lineup.<\/p>\n

Mitchell has missed the Cavs\u2019 last four games. They\u2019re 2-2 in that stretch. On the season, Mitchell is averaging 28.5 points and 5.8 assists per game.<\/p>\n

Atkinson also said that Max Strus \u2014 who is yet to play this season as he\u2019s recovering from a Jones fracture in his foot he suffered during an off-season workout \u2014 was at \u201c90%\u201d participation<\/a> and \u201ccould\u2019ve gone more,\u201d but they didn\u2019t want to push it.<\/p>\n

There isn\u2019t a timetable yet<\/a> for Strus to make his season debut, but Atkinson has said that he anticipates that happening in the regular season, which has just over a month left. He\u2019s excited about what Strus could add as a connector offensively and believes that bringing him back will be like adding a free agent to this team.<\/p>\n

The Cavaliers have also been without Dean Wade for the past three games due to an ankle injury. Along with Mitchell, he was also a full participant in practice on Friday.<\/p>\n

Wade is averaging 5.8 points and 4.2 rebounds per game.<\/p>\n

Jarrett Allen was removed from Tuesday\u2019s game in the third quarter with a knee injury<\/a>. He was not a participant in Friday\u2019s practice, but he did do cardio work and received treatment. Atkinson did say that Allen\u2019s injury was \u201cnot long-term at all<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Allen is averaging 15.3 points and 8.5 rebounds per game this season.<\/p>\n
