Read our <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/betting-editorial-standards\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">editorial standards<\/a> for more information.<\/p>\n<p>As all Knicks fans expected, <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/02\/24\/sports\/landry-shamets-knicks-play-is-forcing-a-mikael-bridges-sacrifice\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Landry Shamet has become a major part of Mike Brown\u2019s rotation<\/a> in recent months.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The veteran sharpshooter has developed into the Knicks\u2019 sixth-man, and he gets a juicy matchup on national television on Sunday afternoon.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Knicks will head to Southern California to take on the Lakers at Crypto.com Arena.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>With Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves leading the way, the Lakers\u2019 guard rotation gives very little resistance on defense, giving a spark plug guard off the bench like Shamet ample room to fill up the box score.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In their only other match up this season a little over a month ago, Shamet<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/02\/01\/sports\/knicks-overwhelm-lebron-james-lakers-with-depth-as-win-streak-hits-six\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-nyp-affiliate=\"true\"> took advantage of LA\u2019s shaky defense<\/a>, dropping 23 points in just 26 minutes on 8-of-13 shooting with six three-pointers, which tied his season high.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It was yet another example of the important role Shamet has played for the Knicks since returning from a sprained right shoulder in mid-January and becoming a bigger part of the team since the calendar turned to February.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Over that period, Shamet is averaging 26.3 minutes per game, which would be his highest over a full season since 2019-20, his second season in the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/betting\/nba-betting-sites\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">NBA<\/a>, heading into Friday\u2019s game against the Nuggets.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.29456384;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"38374948\" width=\"764\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nba\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/new-york-knicks-guard-landry-119623086-e1770144607153.jpg\" alt=\"New York Knicks guard Landry Shamet (44) reacts after a score against the Philadelphia 76ers during the fourth quarter at Xfinity Mobile Arena.\" class=\"wp-image-38374948\"\/>Landry Shamet reacts after a Knicks basket against the 76ers on Jan. 24, 2026.
