They picked up a 129-126 win that had most folks taking time to catch their breath until the final buzzer.

It was quite the night for Gilgeous-Alexander. He crossed off multiple moments in this one. First off, he tied Wilt Chamberlain for the longest 20-point streak in league history at 126 games. His chase of the NBA pantheon has been a storyline in the background all year.

To celebrate the historical feat, Gilgeous-Alexander added some flavor. He swished in the game-winner with the stepback 3-pointer. Despite OKC being without four of its six best players, they pulled off the improbable win over a mostly-healthy Denver squad looking for vengeance.

Gilgeous-Alexander finished with 35 points, 15 assists and nine rebounds. He once again outdueled Nikola Jokic. And with a month left in the regular season, the real question left is if he can join Stephen Curry as the only unanimous MVP winners in league history.

Need a news break? Check out the all new PLAY hub with puzzles, games and more!

All that said, where does Gilgeous-Alexander rank this among his favorite games? Even though he’s only 27 years old, he’s built up quite a portfolio of games to think of. Only natural. After all, he’s ascended into one of the league’s best players with four straight superb-efficient 30-plus point seasons.

Shelving OKC’s NBA playoffs last year as Gilgeous-Alexander won a championship ring, he went with a regular-season masterpiece that his top fans reminisce about all the time.

“Detroit in Detroit was fun. No Dub, no Chet, no Wiggins, AC was sick. We went in there and kinda controlled the game. We pulled a good one out late. Had a lot of points that game. It was fun,” Gilgeous-Alexander said. “I guess whatever my career high is. I don’t know. That night. That’s probably one of my better nights.”

We’re not even a year out since Gilgeous-Alexander had that game. The Thunder collected a 113-107 win in Mar. 2025. In it, the reigning MVP had 48 points on 17-of-26 shooting, six assists and four rebounds. He shot 4-of-6 from 3 and went 10-of-10 on free throws.

To jog your memory, Gilgeous-Alexander had plenty of clips from that game make the rounds on social media. He crossed over Ausar Thompson and dropped Malik Beasley. Nobody on Detroit had a chance to stay in front of him as he was in a groove.

And of course, Gilgeous-Alexander broke his career high earlier this season. All the way back to the second game of the regular season in Oct. 2025. He scored 55 points on 15-of-31 shooting in a double overtime win over the Indiana Pacers. That was another Herculean effort as OKC was short-handed once again.

We’re seeing one of the NBA’s greatest scorers amid his prime. Expect Gilgeous-Alexander to put up classics in an OKC uniform for the foreseeable future. Maybe he’ll pick up some jewelry along the way as he hopes to join all-time greats like Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant.

March 10, 2026, 9:00 p.m. CT Capturing the NBA world’s attention, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander slammed shut the door for…

[3781
72400,7,301,187,3943,6,302,30882,72482,73104,72404,72471,76204,72444,72422,72484,72405,72485,72406,72403
post-652064","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-denver-nuggets","tag-accessfree","tag-basketball","tag-denver","tag-denver-nuggets","tag-denvernuggets","tag-nba","tag-nuggets","tag-sstssportsnbathunder","tag-sstsnokc-thunder","tag-tagausar-thompson","tag-tagbasketball","tag-tagdetroit-pistons","tag-tagmalik-beasley","tag-tagnational-sports","tag-tagnba","tag-tagoklahoma-city-thunder","tag-tagoverall-positive","tag-tagshai-gilgeous-alexander","tag-tagsports-news","tag-typestory
["GET
