“Just my teammates finding me on my cuts when I was open. I mean, I owe basically everything to them,” Minott said after Thursday’s 108-97<\/a> loss at the Atlanta Hawks. Minott came off the bench in Thursday’s loss to score a career-high 24 points in just 24 minutes, showing his ability to get hot at a moment’s notice.<\/p>\n “I don’t really do anything that didn’t involve them finding me. So I say that’s kind of just what happened tonight,” Minott continued. “I’m just trying to keep the same rhythm. I understand that they had a rhythm before me, and I’m just not trying to ruin that. I’m trying to come in, just find a way I can impact the game and uphold the team and lift the team and its values defensively.”<\/p>\n Minott, 23<\/a>, has been a part of some successful teams since coming into the league as the 45th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft out of Memphis. Prior to Minott’s career-high scoring night on Thursday at the Hawks, his previous highest-scoring game was 21<\/a> points earlier this season in Boston’s 136-107 win over the Washington Wizards on Nov. 5.<\/p>\n Since arriving in Brooklyn, Minott is averaging 6.7 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 1.0 steals per game while shooting 48.4% from the field and 33.3% from three-point land in 14.3 minutes per game. Time will tell if Minott’s breakout game will earn him more minutes in head coach Jordi Fernandez’s rotation to end the season, but for now, he can bask in the light that was the best scoring game of his NBA career.<\/p>\n Need a news break?
