Last season, it was <a href=\"https:\/\/clutchpoints.com\/nba\/players\/b24809bb\/tyrese-maxey\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tyrese Maxey<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/clutchpoints.com\/nba\/players\/bafc0a09\/joel-embiid\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Joel Embiid<\/a>, and Paul George who missed the majority of the 76ers&#8217; games, and they were barely on the court together.<\/p>\n<p>This season is about the same, as Maxey and Embiid are currently sidelined with injuries, while <a href=\"https:\/\/clutchpoints.com\/nba\/philadelphia-76ers\/76ers-news-paul-george-suspended-25-games-anti-drug-policy\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Paul George is still serving his 25-game suspension<\/a>. While they&#8217;re sidelined, others have had to step up, with one of them being rookie <a href=\"https:\/\/clutchpoints.com\/tag\/vj-edgecombe\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">VJ Edgecombe<\/a>. He knows that there may be more responsibility put on him, but he&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/7113341\/2026\/03\/13\/vj-edgecombe-76ers-playoffs-health\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">ready for the challenge<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just want to win, and I just want to do the things that allow my team to win,\u201d Edgecombe said via Tony Jones of The Athletic. \u201cIf that means my team needs me to take more shots, I\u2019m ready for that. But, mainly, I just need to do the things that my teams need me to do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This is the ebbs and flows of the season, but for the 76ers, it&#8217;s happening at a time when they need to win in order to stay in the postseason race.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere will be ups and downs,\u201d Edgecombe said. \u201cI have to take the downs with the ups. But I have to stay the course.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As for the people who continue to criticize the 76ers when it comes to their injury problems, Edgecombe says that the team <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/sixers\/injuries-2025-26-season-tyrese-maxey-joel-embiid-kelly-oubre-20260313.html?utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_source=ios&amp;utm_campaign=app_ios_article_share&amp;utm_content=XK7YNRYRRVBJBM5PBTEEB3OJGY\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">isn&#8217;t worried about the noise<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEveryone got something to say about this team,\u201d Edgecombe said via Gina Mizell of The Inquirer. \u201cWe don\u2019t care, to be honest. We just want everyone to be healthy.
