The Philadelphia 76ers<\/a> will look to avoid a second straight loss when they host the Brooklyn Nets<\/a> for some matinee basketball on Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately for the Sixers, they\u2019ll still be missing their former NBA MVP.<\/p>\n

Joel Embiid ruled out vs. Nets due to right oblique strain<\/p>\n

Joel Embiid has been ruled out of the game<\/a> against Brooklyn due to a right oblique strain.<\/p>\n

It will be the eighth consecutive game missed by Embiid, whose last game action came against the Miami Heat<\/a> on Feb. 26. At this point, it remains to be seen when he might be able to return to the court for Philadelphia.<\/p>\n

On the season, Embiid has appeared in just 33 games for Philadelphia and posted\u00a0averages of 26.6 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.1 blocks per performance.<\/p>\n

In addition to Embiid,\u00a0the Sixers will also be without Tyrese Maxey (right finger tendon injury), Andre Drummond (back spasms), Paul George (suspension) and Kelly Oubre Jr. (left elbow sprain) against Brooklyn.<\/p>\n

So, saying the Sixers will be shorthanded for the game would be an understatement.<\/p>\n
