Adebayo made NBA history earlier this week, passing Kobe Bryant for the second-most points scored in a single game. The 83-point performance was met with controversy, though the three-time All-Star has received endorsements from numerous stars.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Per <\/a>South Florida Sun Sentinel\u2019s Ira Winderman, following Thursday\u2019s match, Giannis Antetokounmpo<\/a> called Adebayo one of the league\u2019s top players.<\/p>\n

\u00a0“Obviously, whenever I play against Bam, it’s always an act of motivation. I think he’s one of the best players in the NBA, one of the best two-way players in the NBA, one of the best four, five men in the league. I don’t have to see any big points on the board.”<\/p>\n

Adebayo was drafted with the No. 14 pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. The 28-year-old developed into a defensive specialist for the Heat\u2019s frontcourt, accumulating five All-Defensive selections throughout his career.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This season, Adebayo is averaging 20.0 points and 9.8 rebounds per game. He is the Heat\u2019s third-leading scorer and top rebounder, serving as a key component of the team\u2019s recent rise up the rankings.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Miami holds the sixth spot in the Eastern Conference standings with a 38-29 record. The franchise is on a seven-game winning streak.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Since making an appearance in the 2023 NBA Finals, the Heat have been eliminated in the first round of the playoffs twice. The most recent postseason defeat was a 4-0 sweep by the Cleveland Cavaliers.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Looking to make another trip to the playoffs, other notable contributors for the Heat include Norman Powell and Tyler Herro. The 32-year-old Powell earned his first career All-Star selection last month, while Herro has missed the majority of this season due to injury.<\/p>\n
