However, for the Israeli basketball community, it was a night they\u2019ll never forget. I have no words to describe the amount of support they gave me and the guys. I\u2019m very happy to have this crowd behind me. I was waiting for this game for a long time,\u201d Saraf told reporters. \u201cHe\u2019s a great dude, a great friend of mine. Especially with Danny Wolf [playing], too. Three Israelis on the court at the same time. It was something very special\u2026 [Deni\u2019s] had a huge impact [on basketball in Israel]. The entire year, everybody in Israel has followed him. Everybody was supporting. The guys from Israel know how big it was to have an Israeli All-Star for the first time. It was huge. He scored a season-high 15 points on 5-of-10 shooting while dishing out four assists on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[Ben\u2019s] probably going through the rookie stuff as I did,\u201d Avdija said. \u201cIt\u2019s probably fatigue, and it\u2019s probably knowing how to take care of the body, but he seems like he\u2019s doing a good job. It seems like he\u2019s very tough and hard-nosed. He knows how to play basketball. I\u2019m always here for him, but I feel like he\u2019s doing really good.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Wolf, who grew up in Illinois, became a naturalized Israeli citizen and played for the national team at the 2023 FIBA U20 European Championship. Following a breakout season at Michigan, he\u2019s shown encouraging flashes as a rookie with Brooklyn.<\/p>\n<p>Wolf has averaged 9.0 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.3 assists across 54 appearances. The 21-year-old said he could \u201c100 percent\u201d envision himself playing alongside Avdija and Saraf on the Israeli national team \u201cif the opportunity presents itself.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>Nets head coach Jordi Fernandez, who rose through the NBA ranks after coming to the United States from Spain, spoke about the significance of Monday\u2019s game.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYeah, it\u2019s special,\u201d Fernandez said. \u201cWhen other countries outside the US and Europe can be represented with three players here, it means the world, and it\u2019s a special day that everybody has to enjoy. And I think they are already\u2026 I don\u2019t know Deni, but I\u2019m sure he\u2019s excited to play. I know Ben and Danny are. And that\u2019s good. It\u2019s one of the two times that we\u2019ll see this, and hopefully for many years, see how these guys grow. Obviously Deni, a career year and how much better he has gotten. And then our two young guys, they\u2019re getting better.
