NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – The New Orleans Pelicans defeated the Dallas Mavericks by 18 points Monday night in a game where 10 of 11 players who saw the court scored \u2014 but it was the player with the fewest points who drew the most attention.<\/p>\n
Missi dominates in the low block<\/p>\n
Center Yves Missi started and played 28 minutes, finishing with just four points. His impact came elsewhere: 10 rebounds and five blocks gave New Orleans a presence in the low block that coach James Borrego said the team needed.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe affects our defense in so many ways, but love his energy, his spirit,\u201d Borrego said. \u201cHe\u2019s becoming that rim protector for us. He\u2019s switchable. We\u2019re using him a number of ways defensively. Then he gets out and runs. He\u2019s all over the offensive glass. So, he\u2019s made tremendous strides. He\u2019s been fantastic. Just great energy.\u201d<\/p>\n
Borrego also credited the team\u2019s other frontcourt players.<\/p>\n
\u201cCarlo brings great energy. Obviously, Queen brings a different dimension to the lineup when we go big again,\u201d Borrego said. \u201cBut I thought all our bigs played fantastic tonight, but he was really impressive.\u201d<\/p>\n
