Golden State Warriors swingman Moses Moody went down with a non-contact left knee injury during the team’s 137-131 OT win over the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night.

Moody led the Warriors in scoring with 23 points (8-20 FG), three rebounds, three assists, three steals, and two blocks before getting hurt in OT while planting for a breakaway dunk.

Moody had just returned after a 10-game absence due to a wrist injury in tonight’s game against the Mavericks, leading the team, given their already-existing injury crisis, which has sidelined the likes of Steph Curry and Jimmy Butler.

Moody was stretchered off the court after his injury, heightening fears that this might be more than just a season-ending setback for the 23-year-old.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr announced an update on Moody immediately after the game.

“Kerr said Moody got x-rays immediately after the game. ‘We don’t know what it is, but it sure looked bad.'”

The 6-foot-5 guard has played 60 games for Golden State this season with 48 starts. He’s 12.1 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.6 assists on 44.0% shooting from the field in 25.7 minutes per game. Moody’s improvement as an outside shooter has been key to his increased role, as the former lottery pick is making 2.5 threes per game on 40.1% shooting.

The Warriors’ bench was visibly shaken up after watching Moody go down, with muted celebrations for what was a much-needed come-from-behind OT win on the road. Their concern for Moody goes beyond the competitive landscape of the season, as it could be an injury similar in magnitude to what Butler suffered in February.

The Warriors improve their record to 34-38 on the season, sitting 2.5 games behind the No. 9 seed LA Clippers and the No. 8 seed Portland Trail Blazers. There is a chance the Warriors can compete among these teams over the final 10 games of the season, but it’s dependent on when Steph Curry returns.

Moddy was confirmed to be getting x-rays in the Mavericks’ x-ray facility to get a diagnosis of the injury. He was seen

With Moody also being sidelined indefinitely, the Warriors have to go back to not having him as an option after going 2-8 in the 10 games he missed before tonight’s loss.
