Kevin Durant<\/a> and the Houston Rockets<\/a> are back in action on Wednesday night. They are on the road against an Anthony Edwards-less Minnesota Timberwolves<\/a> side. Durant and Co. are looking to make amends following their unexpected 132-124 loss<\/a> to the Chicago Bulls<\/a> on Monday.<\/p>\n

Durant has been his usual dominant self in his first season with the Rockets. The former NBA<\/a> MVP took his talents to Houston during the offseason in a historic blockbuster trade involving the Phoenix Suns<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Entering Wednesday\u2019s matchup against the Wolves, Durant has produced averages of 25.9 points on 52.0% shooting, 5.5 rebounds and 4.4 assists in 36.5 minutes per contest. The 37-year-old is also knocking down 2.4 triples per game on a highly efficient 41.1% clip.<\/p>\n

Thanks in part to Durant\u2019s strong play, the Rockets headed into Wednesday\u2019s contest with a 43-28 record and sixth in the Western Conference. They are behind the fifth-seeded Wolves by just half a game.<\/p>\n

Durant marked another career milestone on Wednesday night. The NBA took to social media during the game to announce the 16-time All-Star\u2019s latest feat.<\/p>\n

\u201cCongrats to @KDTrey5 of the @HoustonRockets for moving up to 8th on the all-time FIELD GOALS MADE list!\u201d the NBA posted on X.<\/p>\n

Durant climbed to eighth in the all-time field goals list, passing the great Dirk Nowitzki. Durant is now chasing Hall of Fame big man Shaquille O\u2019Neal for the No. 7 spot. As of writing, the Rockets superstar is 160 field goals behind the Los Angeles Lakers<\/a> icon.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a tightly contested affair in Minnesota thus far. The Timberwolves are up 44-43 at the half. Durant has nine points on 2-of-11 shooting, two rebounds, two assists and one triple after 18 minutes played in the first half.<\/p>\n
