Confidence can be a gift and a curse and for Warriors guard Brandin Podziemski<\/a>, as his confidence has been questioned by fans and critics alike.<\/p>\n

Before the 2025-26 NBA season, Podziemski had a pair of quotes, one saying he believed he could be a household name for the Warriors<\/a>, coming off a campaign where he averaged 11.4 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 26.8 minutes of play per game.<\/p>\n

Podziemski spoke with 95.7 The Game on Thursday<\/a> and opened up about some of his contested quotes.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think I could have worded them a little bit differently, but I also think how it\u2019s perceived on the internet is a little taken out of context,\u201d Podziemski said.<\/p>\n

\u201cYour biggest strength can be your biggest weakness and I think it\u2019s gotten me to this point and obviously with anything in life, there\u2019s going to be pushback, people aren\u2019t going to like you for what you say or what you do. But I\u2019m just going to stick with it. It\u2019s worked.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI think I could\u2019ve worded them a little bit differently, but I also think how it\u2019s perceived on the internet is taken a little bit out of context.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another quote that many questioned also came before the season, when he stated he wanted to be better than<\/a> Warriors superstar Steph Curry<\/a> during a press conference at Golden State\u2019s training camp.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think with that it\u2019s just something you strive for, seeing the greatest player at the point guard position, the same position you are,\u201d Podziemski explained to 95.7. \u201cIf you have the opportunity to be better than him, obviously anybody would and I think that\u2019s where I was going with that, not that I\u2019m going to be better than him. Just that if I can be, obviously, I would.\u201d<\/p>\n

This season, Podziemski is averaging a career-high 13.1 points and 10.8 field-goal attempts in 28.4 minutes per game. The 23-year-old has played in all 73 games so far this season with 34 starts.<\/p>\n

He also has put up his best month of the season in March, averaging 16.9 points, 6.1 rebounds and 4.0 assists per contest.<\/p>\n

With Curry still out with his knee injury<\/a>, the Warriors will continue to look to Podziemski as they look to finish the season strong.<\/p>\n
