Newsflash: Stars get favorable whistles in the NBA.<\/p>\n

Complaining about how he doesn\u2019t get the same benefit of the doubt as future Hall of Famer Kevin\u00a0Durant, GG Jackson \u2014 a third-year guard on the Grizzlies \u2014 accused NBA referees of pandering to players of\u00a0Durant\u2019s stature.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust unbelievable how the refs can suck up to somebody,\u201d Jackson said after the Grizzlies lost to the Rockets on Friday night. \u201cHe\u2019s the G.O.A.T. so I respect him, but as far as us other guys, we bust our ass like he does, tie our shoes like how he ties his shoes.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Rockets shot 26 free throws (seven by\u00a0Durant) to the Grizzlies\u2019 18 (two by Jackson).<\/p>\n

\u201cI ain\u2019t going to sugarcoat it: I felt as though I was getting downhill and being physical as I usually am \u2013 getting no calls,\u201d Jackson said. \u201cBut KD can jabstep, jabstep, and just jump up and down and your hand be right there. You can clearly see on the replay, nobody touched him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Durant\u2019s teammate, Tari Eason, apparently dealt a cold dose of reality to Jackson.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd you got Eason [saying], \u2018Bro, you\u2019re not KD,\u2019\u201d Jackson said. \u201cI\u2019m like, \u2018On this court right now, I\u2019m the closest one to him.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Jackson\u2019s 12 points per game rank eighth on the Grizzlies among players with at least 15 games played this season. The Grizzlies (24-49) have been eliminated from playoff contention, while the Rockets (44-29) are in championship-or-bust mode after acquiring\u00a0Durant\u00a0in the offseason.<\/p>\n

Jackson had a specific gripe about a play where he thought he drew foul on Alperen Sengun and wanted official John Goble\u2019s (Mr. John) attention.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey always tell me when I foul, \u2018You went from A to B, you went from A to B,\u2019\u201d Jackson said motioning his arms downward. \u201cI\u2019m like, \u2018Bro, I\u2019m 6-foot-10. At the rim. I promise you I\u2019m not just going to miss those.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m trying to get his attention, trying to get his attention and he\u2019s looking at me like this.
