The Toronto Raptors<\/a> will look to take another step towards clinching a playoff berth and avoiding the play-in tournament on Sunday night when they host the Orlando Magic<\/a> at Scotiabank Arena. <\/p>\n

With nine games remaining in the regular season, the 41-32 Raptors are tied with the Atlanta Hawks<\/a> (42-33) for fifth place in the Eastern Conference, just a half-game better than the Philadelphia 76ers<\/a> (41-33), who are currently sitting in the play-in tournament in seventh place. <\/p>\n

The Magic (39-34) are two games behind the Raptors and can pull within a game if they can get a road win on Sunday. <\/p>\n

The Raptors have missed the playoffs in each of the past three seasons. They qualified for the play-in tournament in 2023, but fell to the Chicago Bulls<\/a> on home court and were eliminated. <\/p>\n

Finishing fifth in the Eastern Conference could mean the Raptors would avoid the New York Knicks<\/a> in the opening round, a team they\u2019ve lost all four of their games to this season. If the playoff started today, Toronto would play the Cleveland Cavaliers<\/a>. The Raptors are 3-0 against the Cavs this season. <\/p>\n

Toronto is coming off a 119-106 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans<\/a> on Friday, while the Magic defeated the Sacramento Kings<\/a> on Thursday to snap a six-game losing skid. <\/p>\n

Scottie Barnes<\/a>, 24, continued his All-Star season in the win over the Pelicans, scoring 23 points with 12 assists and six rebounds over 36 minutes for his 27th double-double in 2025-26. <\/p>\n
