The Cleveland Cavaliers<\/a> have won five of their last six games, including a 21-point victory their last time out against the Miami Heat<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As a result, they’ve all but locked up a top-four seed in the Eastern Conference, leading the Toronto Raptors<\/a> by four and a half games for fifth place with eight games remaining.<\/p>\n

For that reason, Cleveland is taking a cautious approach to end the year, resting some of their key contributors.<\/p>\n

According to<\/a> HoopsHype, the Cavaliers will rest both Jarrett Allen and Max Strus for Monday’s game against the Utah Jazz<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Although he’s missed time due to injury, Allen has had another solid season for Cleveland, averaging 15.3 points, 8.5 rebounds, one steal and 0.9 blocks per game.<\/p>\n

As for Strus, he’s just working his way back from a foot injury that caused him to miss over 60 games to begin the year.<\/p>\n

In the six games that he’s played, Strus has been getting up to speed, averaging a career-high 12.5 points and 6.5 rebounds. Strus is also averaging two assists while shooting 48.8% from deep.<\/p>\n

With the Cavaliers hopeful for a deep playoff run, resting the duo of Allen and Strus is sensible, especially given their opponent.<\/p>\n

Utah is on a current five-game losing streak and they’ve lost nine of their last 10 games.<\/p>\n

Following Monday’s game, the Cavaliers will play two consecutive road games against the Lakers<\/a> and Warriors<\/a> before finishing with three out of five home games to end the season.<\/p>\n
