According to ESPN\u2019s Bobby Marks<\/a>, Memphis once again faces a decision on Ja Morant<\/a>, and whether a trade is something the organization seriously considers<\/a>.<\/p>\n It\u2019s not a new idea. As previously reported by Shams Charania, the Grizzlies explored Morant trades ahead of the deadline. Nothing came together.<\/p>\n Now? The conversation could pick back up.<\/p>\n Morant\u2019s season ended early<\/a> due to an elbow injury, and he appeared in just 20 games. Over the past three seasons, he\u2019s played 79 total. The production hasn\u2019t quite looked like peak Ja, either.<\/p>\n All of that factors in.\u00a0So does the direction of the team.<\/p>\n Memphis<\/a> moved on from Jaren Jackson Jr.<\/a> at the deadline<\/a>, signaling a shift toward getting younger. Where Morant fits into that timeline, if at all, is still unclear.<\/p>\n He\u2019s owed roughly $87 million over the next two years. That\u2019s not nothing.<\/p>\n The Grizzlies also hold three picks in the top 31, giving them flexibility to reshape the roster quickly.<\/p>\n Which brings it back to the main question:\u00a0Is Ja Morant still the centerpiece?
