Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards admitted he missed tip-off against the Dallas Mavericks on Monday, March 30 because he was in the bathroom<\/p>\n
Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch told reporters, “Nature calls,” when asked why Edwards was missing from the starting lineup<\/p>\n
Edwards said his head coach “had my back” after the “miscommunication” that caused him to miss the start of the game<\/p>\n
Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards<\/a> missed tip-off against the Dallas Mavericks for a very important reason.<\/p>\n Edwards, 24, was missing from the starting five on Monday, March 30 when the Timberwolves visited American Airlines Center in Dallas. The All-Star guard was originally announced as a starter ahead of tip-off, but it was Timberwolves’ Mike Conley in his place when the game started.<\/p>\n “I was taking a s—,” Edwards admitted<\/a> to reporters in the locker room, following the team’s 124-94 blowout over the Mavericks.<\/p>\n He added, “Mike had my back though.”<\/p>\n Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch added further context to the situation.<\/p>\n “I mean, nature calls, so,” he told<\/a> reporters.<\/p>\n Edwards, who had missed the previous six games with the Timberwolves due to right knee inflammation, came into the game off the bench about two minutes into the matchup.<\/p>\n Anthony Edwards on March 30, 2026 in Dallas Once Edwards’ bathroom emergency was disposed of, the Wolves star was “awesome” in the game, Finch said.<\/p>\n “His defense was outstanding,” the coach said. “Just let the game come to him. Stayed aggressive. Made quicker decisions. And things looked kind of easy for him as a result.”<\/p>\n Edwards scored 17 points on Monday and added two rebounds and four assists to his stat line in the win. He told reporters he felt like “a kid in a candy store” back out on the court on Monday after the game.<\/p>\n Of his two weeks of missed play, Edwards told The Athletic<\/a> he was “miserable” away from the court. \u201cI was a little stressed out.
