Ionescu sat out the Unrivaled season <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/01\/08\/sports\/sabrina-ionescu-sidelined-for-unrivaled-season-with-undisclosed-injury\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">with an unspecified injury<\/a>, though she\u2019s been training on her own throughout the offseason.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Two injured players attending camp, which runs from Wednesday through Friday, are USC forward JuJu Watkins, who missed this past season with an ACL tear and will be a limited participant, and Lynx forward Napheesa Collier, who <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/01\/01\/sports\/napheesa-collier-to-undergo-double-ankle-surgery-that-complicates-unrivaled-lynx-seasons\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">had surgery on both ankles<\/a> earlier this year and was also sidelined for Unrivaled\u2019s season, who will not participate in on-court activities.<\/p>\n<p>Collier was spotted last week at her annual Hopkins basketball camp in Minnesota with a cast on her left leg.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.49926794;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"38953102\" width=\"885\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nba\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/new-york-liberty-guard-sabrina-107575788.jpg\" alt=\"Sabrina Ionescu reacting after scoring a three-point basket during a game.\" class=\"wp-image-38953102\"  \/>Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu (20) reacts after scoring a three-point basket against the Los Angeles Sparks. Heather Khalifa for the NY Post<\/p>\n<p>Others expected to join include four-time WNBA MVP A\u2019ja Wilson, 2025 WNBA Rookie of the Year Paige Bueckers and former Liberty forward Kayla Thornton, who played for the Valkyries last season.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Monique Billings, Cameron Brink, Rae Burell, Veronica Burton, Stefanie Dolson, Rickea Jackson, Azura Stevens, Brittney Sykes and Mikayla Blakes round out the 15-player roster, which Duke coach Kara Lawson is leading.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>U.S. women\u2019s national team managing director Sue Bird will be on site to evaluate players in preparation for the 2026 FIBA World Cup, scheduled for Sept. 4-16 in Berlin, Germany.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu is returning to the court just in time for the 2026 WNBA season.
