Since then, he has been auditioning for the full-time gig, but as the Pels come down the stretch, has the interim head coach done enough?  That&#8217;s what the Pelicans front office will evaluate this offseason as they search for the franchise&#8217;s next head coach. Joe Dumars and company have a good sample size from Borrego, who&#8217;s gone 23-41 thus far as the interim, a stretch that&#8217;s taught Borrego a lot.  &#8220;Every single game I&#8217;m learning. There&#8217;s not a coach in the NBA that bats 1.000 every single game. It just doesn&#8217;t happen,&#8221; James Borrego said. &#8220;I&#8217;ve coached with the greatest coach of all time, the winningest coach of all time, and every game he was always asking himself and our staff, what can we do better? &#8220;&#8221;But I really think that&#8217;s the goal in all this, as a leader. Staying focused on where can I get better, how can I grow, and then how do I help my team grow along the way?&#8221; One player who&#8217;s continued to grow. Trey Murphy. So how would the forward assess the job done? &#8220;It&#8217;s tough. I mean, obviously, getting the job in the middle of the year is tough,&#8221; Trey Murphy said. &#8220;You know, trying to rally a group of guys and play a certain way after you&#8217;ve been playing it a certain way for a while. It&#8217;s tough.
