Tyler Herro has etched his name<\/a> in rare Miami Heat history, becoming the guard with the second-most 30-point gams in team history (according to Real App). The only guard with more 30-point games scored in Heat history is Dwyane Wade. <\/p>\n

This puts Herro in great company as far as his offensive prowess is concerned<\/a>. And for those within the Heat, this feat should not come as a huge surprise. <\/p>\n

While there may be some that might not want to see Herro and Wade in the same conversation, this just speaks to the former’s development since breaking into the league. Coming out, many viewed Herro as a player who could help give Miami an added 3-point boost.<\/p>\n

Tyler Herro has been a development success for the Heat <\/p>\n

Through his seven seasons with the team, he’s been much more than that. <\/p>\n

Sure, Herro has had his struggles over the course of his career, but he’s certainly been a much better player than most believed he’d be coming out of Kentucky. Selected 13th overall in the 2019 NBA Draft, Herro has made the leap from an end-of-lottery selection to an All-Star caliber player.<\/a> <\/p>\n

Along with Bam Adebayo, Herro has quickly evolved into one of the Heat’s best development stories in recent history. And this accomplishment speaks to that. <\/p>\n

Herro may not be the most complete player in Heat history, and he certainly has his faults, especially on the defensive end of the floor. However, Herro is certainly one of the most talented offensive players who has played for the Heat. <\/p>\n

With the most respect to Wade, when it comes to scoring the basketball, there’s an argument to be made that Herro could be better. Sure, Wade is the better athlete, rim-runner, ball-handler, and playmaker, but Herro is better with his shot – probably both in the mid-range and from the 3-point line. <\/p>\n

As a pure scorer, Herro’s scoring power can’t be questioned. <\/p>\n

Tyler Herro deserves his flowers, despite his flaws <\/p>\n

Again, this is not a knock on Wade. But it does speak to the type of talent that Herro is, especially on the offensive end of the floor. <\/p>\n

Either way, Herro has carved out a spot in Heat history that he should be proud of. It should also shine Herro in a new light for Heat fans. <\/p>\n

Especially as Herro has become more and more polarizing within the fan base, Heat fans need to remember just how much he’s been able to accomplish individually over such a short time. <\/p>\n

Despite his faults, there haven’t been many other guards in Heat history with more scoring prowess than Herro.
