A former Philadelphia 76ers<\/a> head coach is headed to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.<\/p>\n

It was revealed by ESPN’s Shams Charania<\/a> that Doc Rivers will be part of the Hall’s 2026 class, which also includes\u00a0Amar’e Stoudemire, Candace Parker, Elena Delle Donne and Mark Few.<\/p>\n

Rivers, who is the current coach of the Milwaukee Bucks<\/a>, coached the 76ers for three seasons from 2020 to 2023.<\/p>\n

The Sixers had a winning percentage greater than 62 in each of Rivers’ three seasons, and they also lost in the Eastern Conference semifinals each season under Rivers.<\/p>\n

Eventually, the Sixers decided to move on from Rivers and hired Nick Nurse, who is currently on the hot seat at the end of his third season in Philadelphia.<\/p>\n

In addition to the Sixers and Bucks, Rivers also coached the Orlando Magic<\/a>, Boston Celtics<\/a> and Los Angeles Clippers<\/a>. He has the sixth-most regular season wins and fourth-most playoff wins in NBA history, and he led the Celtics to an NBA title in 2008. He was named one of the 15 best coaches<\/a> in NBA history by the league.<\/p>\n

Given all of the accolades and success that he’s experienced, Rivers’ inclusion in the Hall-of-Fame is well deserved.<\/p>\n
