\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tby Cedric ‘BIG CED’ Thornton <\/a><\/p>\n April 1, 2026<\/p>\n The band will take the court at halftime on April 2<\/p>\n On April 2, the LA Clippers and the San Antonio Spurs game will get a dose of HBCU excitement as Winston-Salem State University\u2019s Red Sea of Sound Marching Band will be the featured performer during halftime.<\/p>\n The school has announced that the band will perform<\/a> during the Clippers\u2019 HBCU Night at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.<\/p>\n \u201cThis is an incredible opportunity to highlight the talent and tradition of our Red Sea of Sound on a national platform,\u201d said Dr. Michael Magruder, director of bands, in a written statement.\u00a0\u201cOur students represent the very best of Winston-Salem State University, and we are proud to share that excellence with a broader audience.\u201d<\/p>\n This showcase will be the first time the Red Sea of Sound will take center court at the arena. The team has chosen to highlight HBCUs on this night, which will include an evening of programming featuring live entertainment, alumni engagement, and in-arena recognition.<\/p>\n \u201cThis moment underscores WSSU\u2019s focus on expanding visibility, deepening community engagement and elevating the student experience. Opportunities like this position students on national stages, reinforcing the university\u2019s commitment to excellence and global impact,\u201d said Winston-Salem State University Chancellor Bonita J.
