Memphis Grizzlies forward Brandon Clarke was arrested and booked into an Arkansas jail on four charges, including possession of and trafficking a controlled substance, on Wednesday afternoon.<\/p>\n
Clarke 29, was booked into the facility in Cross County, Ark., at 1:03 CDT, according to the Cross County Sheriff\u2019s Office. He also was charged with two driving offenses \u2013 improper passing and fleeing in a vehicle or conveyance with speeding.<\/p>\n
Cross County, Ark., is approximately 55 miles west of Memphis.<\/p>\n
The office\u2019s website didn\u2019t list whether or not the charges were misdemeanors or felonies. The website profile of Clarke includes his booking photo.<\/p>\n
Grizzlies coach Tuomas Iisalo said he was \u201caware of the reports\u201d but didn\u2019t further comment on Clarke\u2019s situation prior to Wednesday\u2019s home game against the New York Knicks.<\/p>\n
Clarke is in his seventh season with the Grizzlies. He has played in just two games this season. He was out at the start of the season due to a right knee injury. He returned in mid-December and injured his right calf in his second game.<\/p>\n
The Grizzlies ruled Clarke out for the rest of the season on March 24.<\/p>\n
