The Celtics began the game scorching hot from the field, scoring 53 points in the first quarter, hitting 11 3-pointers in the opening frame to jump out to a 20-point lead.

Boston would continue their hot start by finishing the first half with 80 points, in what would be a monumental night for both Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum in the victory. For the first time since returning from injury, and also the first since February of 2025, Tatum recorded a triple-double, while Brown added 43 points on 17-29 shooting.

Here’s a quick recap of Boston’s 18-point win over the Miami Heat as they closed out the series on an undefeated note this season:

Final score: Boston Celtics 147, Miami Heat 129Keys to the game:

The Jay’s: Both Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum had games to remember, and this outing against the Heat could signify just where the team is with less than two full weeks remaining in the regular season. Brown scored 43 points on the night and also contributed with 7 assists and 3 rebounds, doing all that he can in every facet of the game, although he only went 4-10 from 3-point range. With just 12 points from deep, Brown showed an incredible knack for getting to the rim as he has done all season.

Need a news break? Check out the all new PLAY hub with puzzles, games and more!

While Brown was putting up 43 on the night, Jayson Tatum was taking his game to another level during his return from injury, posting his first triple-double. Tatum ended the night with 25 points, 18 rebounds, and 11 assists, it’s hard to argue that he was the biggest star of the night, despite Brown’s big night scoring. The outing from the two Celtics superstars should be a big message to the league that if Tatum is officially in rhythm, Boston could be clicking on all cylinders heading into the playoffs.

Scorching first half: The first quarter scoring output by Boston was the second-most by the franchise in the shot clock era, just one point behind their 54-point quarter in 1970. It wasn’t just the first quarter however, as Boston’s 80 points in the first half showed just how dangerous they could be when they’re having an efficient shooting night.

Highlight of the game: Jaylen Brown puts stamp on win and big night with fadeaway for 43 pointsWhat’s next: @ Milwaukee Bucks, Friday, April 3, 8:00PM ET<img class="gnt_em_img_i" style="height:440px" fetchpriority="high" data-g-r="lazy" data-gl-src="https://www.rawchili.com/nba/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/88954711007-usatsi-28384074.jpg" data-gl- decoding="async" alt="Mar 2, 2026; Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA; Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo (34) drives against Boston Celtics forward Sam Hauser (30) in the first half at Fiserv Forum. This would be the third meeting on the road between the two teams, and the first appearance for Jayson Tatum against Milwaukee since returning from injury. Coming into Wednesday, the Bucks were 15 games under .500, and have virtually waved the white flag, so the matchup should give an opportunity for Boston to keep building off their momentum from Wednesday’s win as the race towards the playoffs heats up.

Listen to “Havlicek Stole the Pod” on:

Blue Wire: https://tiny.ee/CdKp

iTunes: https://tiny.ee/RK47

YouTube: https://tiny.ee/cOW3

[3766
72400,7,45,75,3798,46,6,72493,72494,72404,72405,72406,72403
0":"post-693121","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-boston-celtics","8":"tag-accessfree","9":"tag-basketball","10":"tag-boston","11":"tag-boston-celtics","12":"tag-bostonceltics","13":"tag-celtics","14":"tag-nba","15":"tag-sstssportsnbaceltics","16":"tag-sstsnceltics","17":"tag-tagbasketball","18":"tag-tagoverall-positive","19":"tag-tagsports-news","20":"tag-typestory
["GET
