Allen sustained a right knee tendinitis last March 3 against the Detroit Pistons, forcing him to miss about three weeks and the Cavs’ nine games.<\/p>\n
Upon his return, the limited minutes are glaring on Allen’s end. In his injury comeback game last Friday against the Miami Heat, he only logged 18 points and 10 rebounds in 18 minutes.<\/p>\n
After not playing against the Utah Jazz last weekend, Allen reentered the Cavs’ lineup last Tuesday against the LA Lakers. But in the team’s 127-113 lopsided loss, he only appeared for 19 minutes while registering 18 points and four boards.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t know,\u201d Allen told Fedor about when he sees himself fully recovering. \u201cIt\u2019s just the truthful answer to that. Hopefully it gets better. I\u2019ve gone through tendonitis all of my career. That\u2019s just a big man\u2019s thing you have to deal with. I think it is going to get better. We have been doing so much to make it get better \u2014 and it has \u2014 but I can\u2019t answer that question.\u201d<\/p>\n
Allen’s injury certainly threatens the Cavaliers’ hopes of winning it all this year. They are currently No. 4 in the East standings with a 47-29 record.<\/p>\n
With their big man restricted by knee injuries, Cleveland is facing serious questions about going as deep as they can and reaching the franchise’s goal of clinching its first title since 2016.<\/p>\n
By trading for James Harden last trade deadline, many expects the Cavs to seriously compete for the NBA title.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s definitely frustrating,\u201d Allen admitted. \u201cInjuries always suck for anybody, especially at the timing when it happened for me. But you know how I am. What can I do about it? Just have to keep on moving. Having that outlook makes it a lot easier.\u201d<\/p>\n
