One of the more shocking moves to happen at the NBA\u2019s trade deadline was the Boston Celtics<\/a>\u2019 acquisition of Nikola Vucevic from the Chicago Bulls<\/a>, a move that brought an end to a six-year chapter in the 35-year-old\u2019s career.<\/p>\n

The move could\u2019ve been originally deemed as the Celtics\u2019 solving a front-court depth issue they\u2019d had since the departure of Kristaps Porzingis in the prior offseason, but it\u2019d be safe to say things didn\u2019t get off to the most ideal start.<\/p>\n

Nikola Vucevic appears to be moving in right direction for Celtics<\/p>\n

Only 12 games into his time with Boston, Vucevic suffered a fracture in his right ring finger, which was expected to keep him off the court for the foreseeable future.<\/p>\n

While that has been the case, footage has recently surfaced of him getting back to action.<\/p>\n

The video shows the 35-year-old partaking in some on-court drills at the Kaseya Center prior to the Celtics\u2019 match against the Miami Heat<\/a> on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n

Despite losing their deadline day pickup, Boston hasn\u2019t slowed down in the slightest, currently holding the second spot in the Eastern Conference, four and a half games back from the Detroit Pistons<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s worth noting that while they lost Vucevic, the Celtics have gotten Jayson Tatum back in the meantime, who has returned from his Achilles tear in a relatively swift fashion, averaging 20.9 points and 9.1 rebounds per game.<\/p>\n

Given that Boston has secured postseason action, a potential return for the 35-year-old could remain on the cards. Vucevic’s new team is eager for his potential return.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s getting better, as you saw in the workout today,\u201d Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla said before the battle between Boston and Miami. \u201cThe most important thing is that he feels 100%. When he\u2019s ready, he\u2019ll come back, and we just want him back when he\u2019s ready to go. He\u2019s going to help us.”<\/p>\n
