Kam Williams earned a lot of admiration from Big Blue Nation this past March when he came back from a broken foot to play in the SEC and NCAA Tournaments.<\/p>\n
Williams broke his foot initially on Jan. 21st and had surgery shortly thereafter. But he aggressively came back for postseason play, making an impact on both ends of the floor with his 3-point shooting and length on defense.<\/p>\n

Williams is currently a question mark when it comes to roster retention entering next season. Part of that is knowing what his role would be if he returns, his father, Greg Williams Sr., told KSR\u2019s Jack Pilgrim<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cKam is just waiting to see what his role is going to be,\u201d his father, Greg Williams Sr., said. \u201cOnce you\u2019re on the team, you never know exactly what direction they\u2019re going the following year.\u201d<\/p>\n It\u2019s clear Williams loves being at Kentucky, at least according to his father. That\u2019s why there\u2019s hope he will return.<\/p>\n \u201cHe said he loves Kentucky. This is where he wants to be. I\u2019m just looking to hear that everything\u2019s a done deal and\u00a0this is where he\u2019ll be,\u201d said Williams Sr.<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n It\u2019s great hearing these things from Kam\u2019s father, and it sounds like his father is a valuable sounding board for him. How should Big Blue Nation feel? I would say cautiously optimistic. If Williams does return, that\u2019s a great two-way player to have as a foundation for next year\u2019s team.<\/p>\n In his first season with the Cats, Williams averaged six points per game and shot 44.9% from the field and 35.9% from deep.
