Kevin Durant and Nike have had one of the best partnerships, from a business standpoint. The merchandiser olds the Houston Rockets superstar in a very high light.<\/p>\n
So much that they didn\u2019t want to risk losing him, as one of their endorsed athletes. Nike made sure to strike up a lifetime deal with Durant when they faced the very real possibility of losing him to Under Armour, who had Durant\u2019s former Golden State Warriors teammate Stephen Curry signed to their label at the time.<\/p>\n
What\u2019s resulted is Durant having the label\u2019s second-longest sneaker, behind only LeBron James. Durant is approaching his 19th\u00a0sneaker with the label, as the \u2018KD 19\u2019 shoe is slated to release this summer. The Rockets star has already started wearing the sneaker, prior to the start of the postseason.<\/p>\n
We\u2019ve already seen multiple colorways of the shoe worn by Durant thus far, in red, orange and yellow. We\u2019ve even seen University of Texas superstar Madison Booker donning the orange colorway throughout the NCAA tournament.<\/p>\n
Durant has seen several of his sneakers get re-released by Nike, especially ones from much earlier in his career. For example, the KD 4 shoes have been retroed over the years, in several colorways. This year has been the year of the KD 6 re-drop.<\/p>\n
We\u2019ve already seen the \u2018All-Star Illusion\u2019 colorway come back out, which was an ode to the 2014 All-Star game that was played in New Orleans. In addition, the \u2018Peanut Butter and Jelly\u2019 colorway of the KD 6 has also already been re-released.<\/p>\n
The next colorway of the shoe that will be retroed is the \u2018Aunt Pearl\u2019 colorway, which is expected to drop in the holiday season of this year. <\/p>\n
