The Phoenix Suns<\/a> have a new record-holder for the most 3-pointers made in a single season.<\/p>\n

With his production from long range during Phoenix’s 127-107 loss to the Charlotte Hornets<\/a> on Thursday night,\u00a0Collin Gillespie officially passed\u00a0Quentin Richardson for the most triples made by a Sun in a season.<\/p>\n

Richardson connected on 226 triples during the\u00a02004-05 season.\u00a0Gillespie has now made 227 this season, and counting.<\/p>\n

After the game,\u00a0Gillespie expressed gratitude<\/a> about the achievement, though it would have meant more to him if it came during a win.<\/p>\n

“It’s a great accomplishment,” Gillespie said. “And I’m extremely grateful and thankful to everybody here for helping me, but at the end of the day, it doesn’t really mean much right now with the loss.”<\/p>\n
