This time around, the situation is slightly different.

When Yabusele wrapped up his first and only season with the Sixers, his stock was spiking. The French forward looked like the comeback kid after posting averages of 11.0 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 2.1 assists, while draining 38.0% of his threes after five years out of the NBA.

Now, he’s got question marks again, following stints with the New York Knicks and the Bulls. Recently, Yabusele opened up on his future, sending a message to the Bulls.

Guerschon Yabusele Makes His Feelings Clear On Free Agency

Photo by Emilee Chinn/Getty Images)PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA – FEBRUARY 02: Guerschon Yabusele #28 of the Philadelphia 76ers looks on during a game against the Boston Celtics at the Wells Fargo Center on February 02, 2025 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I’m going to keep pushing for that, and I’d also like to sign for several years so I can breathe a bit.”

When Yabusele’s first season with the Sixers concluded, he hoped to get a desirable offer from the Sixers’ front office. One was on the table, but Yabusele later admitted that it wasn’t enough to outbid the New York Knicks.

The Knicks signed Yabusele to a two-year deal, worth $11.2 million. The second season was a player option for $5.7 million. While Yabusele assumed he would serve two years in New York, the lack of a role contributed to him quickly souring on the situation.

The feeling was mutual.

GettyNEW YORK, NEW YORK – OCTOBER 17: Guerschon Yabusele #28 of the New York Knicks dribbles against Sion James #4 of the Charlotte Hornets during the first half at Madison Square Garden on October 17, 2025 in New York City. Naturally, Yabusele’s production would climb again.

With the Knicks, Yabusele posted averages of 2.7 points and 2.1 rebounds. Since landing on the Bulls, Yabusele has been posting averages of 10.6 points and 5.6 rebounds.

On a good note, Yabusele continues to prove he’s productive when the minutes are there. The biggest concern is whether he can be productive when the games hold more weight.

Justin Grasso Justin Grasso is an NBA reporter, covering trending league news, transactions, injuries, and player developments.
