ESPN&#8217;s Brian Windhorst claimed on Thursday&#8217;s edition of NBA Today that the French sensation actually has a considerable argument for the Most Improved Player nod.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I\u2019m not saying anything negative about any of the other candidates. I\u2019m just saying you can make a case that Victor [Wembanyama] should win Defensive Player of the Year, MVP, and Most Improved,&#8221; the NBA analyst said.<\/p>\n<p>  <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/a\/status\/2039545314391294173\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">  <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Wembanyama is averaging 24.7 points, 11.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and a league-leading 3.1 blocks this season for the Spurs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Interestingly, his current numbers mirror what he had from the past 2024-25 campaign, until a blood clot diagnosis prematurely ended his season which limited him to just 46 games.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Regardless, his impact to the Spurs&#8217; success this year is off the charts. He carried San Antonio to the No. 2 seed of the Western Conference standings with a 58-18 record.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">No player yet in the history of the NBA has won the three of MVP, DPOY and MIP in a single season, yet Windhorst is convinced that Wembanyama has a strongly decent case to be that one.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">&#8220;If you look at what he has done year over year, I remember when I was a kid watching Shaquille O\u2019Neal play. I would watch NBA on NBC on Sunday afternoons, and I would not take my eyes off Shaq. I didn\u2019t care where he went. I didn\u2019t care what Penny was doing or what Dennis Scott was doing. I was just watching Shaq go up and down the court,&#8221; Windhorst said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">&#8220;This is what I do with him. I\u2019m just watching No. 1 go up and down the court. There\u2019s other good stuff happening, and you\u2019re going to tell us about it, coach, but I can\u2019t take my eyes off him.
