The Minnesota Timberwolves<\/a> are set to play the Philadelphia 76ers<\/a> in a key game late in the 2025-26 NBA season on April 3. Before the game, an Anthony Edwards<\/a> injury update was announced, as the Timberwolves confirmed<\/a> he would be playing in the game, despite sitting out the night before in the team\u2019s loss to the Detroit Pistons<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Now, in the lead-up to the Friday night contest, Minnesota has announced<\/a> its starting lineup and final injury report against Philadelphia.<\/p>\n

The Timberwolves enter the game with a 46-30 record,<\/a> currently in a tight race for a top-four seed in the Western Conference standings.<\/p>\n

Before the matchup, the Timberwolves took to social media<\/a> to announce their starting lineup, coming just an hour after the team revealed Edwards\u2019 injury status for the game.<\/p>\n

Donte DiVincenzo<\/a>, Anthony Edwards<\/a>, Ayo Dosunmu<\/a>, Julius Randle,<\/a> and Rudy Gobert<\/a> were all placed in the starting lineup by head coach Chris Finch.<\/p>\n

This is a starting group that, when all are healthy, Minnesota has been using over the past few weeks. While trade deadline acquisition, Dosunmu, along with Edwards, each missed time, this lineup has been one that\u2019s worked well for the Timberwolves, despite it being a bit undersized compared to what other teams have been throwing at them recently.<\/p>\n

Regardless, based on the team\u2019s current injuries<\/a>, it\u2019s a starting lineup they are forced to use as they hope to bounce back with a win on Friday.<\/p>\n

Timberwolves Injury Report vs. 76ers<\/p>\n

While the Timberwolves did announce Edwards<\/a> would be available for the game, his upgraded status doesn\u2019t mean they\u2019ll be with a clean injury report against the 76ers.<\/p>\n

Minnesota will be without key player Jaden McDaniels<\/a> for the contest, as he is sitting with a knee injury suffered a few games ago.<\/p>\n

In a recent announcement, the Timberwolves confirmed that McDaniels would be week-to-week, with no official return date or timeline yet to be announced.<\/p>\n

Jaden McDaniels diagnosed with a bone bruise and listed as \u201cweek to week.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cAn MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) conducted by Dr. Craig Bennett at Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine on McDaniels revealed left knee patella tendinopathy and a bone bruise. McDaniels will be listed as week-to-week, and further updates of his progress will be provided when available,\u201d\u00a0Minnesota wrote in an official statement on McDaniels.<\/a><\/p>\n

However, according to team insider Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic<\/a>, McDaniels will not need surgery to fix the knee injury and bone bruise.<\/p>\n

The Timberwolves have a few other two-way players listed as out for the game.<\/p>\n

Anthony Edwards Injury Update, End-of-Season Awards Status<\/p>\n

Edwards missed the Timberwolves\u2019 last game against the Pistons, officially out due to injury management and an illness.<\/a><\/p>\n

He is now no longer eligible<\/a> for end-of-season awards, as he won\u2019t hit the 65-game rule the league implemented a few seasons ago.<\/p>\n

Anthony Edwards missing tonight with an illness means he will no longer be eligible for postseason awards.<\/p>\n

While Edwards did sit on Friday, he was questionable<\/a> in the lead-up to the Timberwolves vs. 76ers game on Friday. However, he was eventually upgraded to available<\/a>, as the injury and illness will not keep him out two games in a row.<\/p>\n

Edwards has played in just one game after missing the team\u2019s previous six with what was officially described as right knee inflammation<\/a>. While it reportedly wasn\u2019t a major issue<\/a> for the NBA<\/a> superstar, it was one of the longest absences of his career, and made him ineligible for end-of-season awards this season, including any potential All-NBA honors.<\/p>\n

The Timberwolves have gone 6-4 in their last ten games, and are hopeful to move up the standings over the Houston Rockets<\/a> and Denver Nuggets<\/a> to clinch home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs.<\/p>\n
