The Cleveland Cavaliers<\/a> defeated the Golden State Warriors 118-111 on Thursday night in San Francisco. With the win the Cavaliers moved to 48-29, while improving to 24-15 on the road. <\/p>\n

The Cavaliers now sit just one game behind the third-place New York Knicks and 3.5 games behind the second-place Boston Celtics with five games left in the Cavaliers regular season. <\/p>\n

The win over the Warriors marked the Cavaliers seventh win in their last nine games.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Max Strus continues to impress since coming back from injury\"Cleveland<\/p>\n

Max Strus,<\/a> who missed most of the 2025-26 season with injury, proved why he deserves to be considered for the starting rotation come playoff time. <\/p>\n

Strus recorded 24 points on 6-10 shooting from beyond the arc. The Cavaliers as a team shot 44 percent from beyond the arc while holding the Warriors to just 27 percent from deep.<\/p>\n

Donovan Mitchell and James Harden log impressive outings<\/p>\n

Both Donovan Mitchell<\/a> and James Harden continued their fantastic seasons as they logged 19 and 25 points respectively.\u00a0The Cavaliers jumped out to a 30-26 lead, which swelled to a 54-47 lead at the halftime break.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Technical fouls handed out as game turns to chaos<\/p>\n

The Game between the Cavaliers and Warriors descended into chaos for a few moments early in the fourth quarter. Cvaliers guard Dennis Schroder committed a foul that was upgraded to a flagrant one, and Warriors guard Draymond Green logged a technical foul, with Dennis Schroder and Cavaliers coach Kenny Atkinson both receiving technical fouls in the ensuing madness. Schroder would end the game with 12 points.<\/p>\n

The Cavaliers were able to see the game out in the second half, keeping pace with the Warriors in the third and outscoring Golden State by three in the fourth quarter.<\/p>\n

Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen continued their dominance on the boards, as Mobley hauled in 10 rebounds while Allen grabbed 13. Despite Mobely and Allen\u2019s dominance, the Warriors tied the Cavaliers in rebounds with both sides bringing in 46 boards.<\/p>\n

The Cavaliers will now have an extra day of rest as they travel back to Cleveland to take on the Indiana Pacers as they navigate the final stretch of their regular season. The game can be watched on FanDuel SportsNetwork Ohio. <\/p>\n
