Denver Nuggets coach David Adelman faces the grim reality of Aaron Gordon’s absence in Game 7 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Oklahoma City Thunder. <\/p>\n

Just as Peyton Watson was starting to get settled in with the Denver Nuggets<\/a> again, the young veteran suffered another setback.<\/p>\n

Following the Nuggets\u2019 practice session on Friday, April 3, the head coach, David Adelman, issued some unfortunate news regarding Watson. The standout guard is going to be considered week-to-week due to a right hamstring injury.<\/p>\n

The 23-year-old was playing in his fourth-straight game when he suffered his latest setback.<\/p>\n

This season, Watson has checked in for 54 games (40 starts). He is seeing the court for 29.6 minutes per game, producing 14.6 points per game, and shooting 41.1% from three.<\/p>\n

Back on February 4, Watson suffered a setback, which resulted in a 19-game absence throughout February and March. He returned on March 22.<\/p>\n

During the Nuggets\u2019 April 1 game against the Utah Jazz<\/a>, Watson came off the bench for just nine minutes before going out.<\/p>\n

Before Watson checked out of the game, the veteran guard appeared on the court for nine minutes. He shot 3-5 from the field, missing both of his shots from beyond the arc. Watson exited the game with six points, three rebounds, and one turnover.<\/p>\n

The Nuggets managed to take care of business against the Utah Jazz in their latest outing, winning 130-117. Having a few days off was a major benefit for the Nuggets, as they had a few players dealing with minor setbacks.<\/p>\n

But a few days won\u2019t be enough for Watson.<\/p>\n

The Nuggets are scheduled for a 3 PM ET tip against the San Antonio Spurs<\/a> on Saturday, April 4.<\/p>\n

While the injury report hasn\u2019t been revealed yet, it\u2019s clear the Nuggets are going to roll without their star guard. The Spurs matchup will be Denver\u2019s last of the week, before they open up next week\u2019s slate with a game against the Portland Trail Blazers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

With just 10 days left in the regular season, Watson\u2019s absence could stretch into the playoffs. In that case, he\u2019ll get a few weeks to recover. With Denver avoiding the NBA<\/a> Play-In Tournament, the earliest they\u2019ll play again after the regular season is on April 18. That\u2019s the official start of the postseason.<\/p>\n
