Los Angeles Lakers<\/a> star LeBron James<\/a> shared his thoughts after the team suffered a blowout loss Thursday night. The Lakers were beaten 139-96 by the Oklahoma City Thunder<\/a> at the Paycom Center. The 43-point margin marked one of the team\u2019s most lopsided defeats in years.<\/p>\n

The Lakers have lost by a larger margin only six times. Thursday\u2019s final score was just six points short<\/a> of their worst. That came in a 49-point loss to the Dallas Mavericks<\/a> in January 2017.<\/p>\n

The Thunder took control early, leading 44-21 after the first quarter. By halftime, the Lakers trailed 82-51, down 31 points. Oklahoma extended their lead to 112-67 in the third quarter.<\/p>\n

After such a crushing defeat, James didn\u2019t mince words about the Thunder\u2019s dominance. The NBA<\/a>‘s all-time leading scorer made his opinion of OKC very clear.<\/p>\n

“We understand and know what they’re capable of,\u201d the NBA superstar said, via the Lakers Nation<\/a>. \u201cThey beat the [expletive] out of us from the start tonight.\u201d<\/p>\n

Shooting guard Austin Reaves also echoed that blunt assessment.<\/p>\n

“They beat the [expletive] out of us,” Reaves said, via OKC Thunder Wire.<\/a> \u201cThey’re the defending champs. We gotta be better. I don’t know. Losing always sucks. No matter if it was by one of 50. A loss is a loss.\u201d<\/p>\n

Injuries also made the night even worse. Lakers star Luka Doncic<\/a> exited the game in the third quarter after suffering a left hamstring injury.<\/p>\n

Reaves also suffered a minor back injury<\/a> in the first half but returned to play in the second half. Veteran guard Marcus Smart remained on the sidelines with an ankle injury.<\/p>\n

However, James refused to let the loss or the injuries shake the team\u2019s confidence.<\/p>\n

\u201cNothing has changed,” James told ESPN<\/a>. “We still will be [together]. Obviously, we’ll be tested with the head of the snake [missing] … But nothing is rattled. It’s one game, it’s part of the NBA season, it’s the defending champions. We get it. We understand.”<\/p>\n

On Friday, Doncic underwent an MRI, which revealed a Grade 2 left hamstring strain<\/a>. He will now be sidelined for the remainder of the regular season.<\/p>\n

The Lakers have five games left before the NBA playoffs start later this month. They sit third in the Western Conference at 50\u201327 and have secured a playoff spot.<\/p>\n
