Since he\u2019s on a minutes restriction, Wagner is going to have a discounted points prop on Sunday against a New Orleans defense that is 24th in the NBA in opponent points per game.<\/p>\n
Wagner has scored 12 and 18 points in his first two games back in action, attempting 13 and 12 shots in those games. That gives him a pretty solid floor, even though he\u2019s played less than 20 games in both outings.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Wagner is averaging 20.9 points per game while shooting over 48 percent from the field, so he\u2019s a worthwhile bet on Sunday as long as his usage in the offense remains the same.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Magic vs. Pelicans Prediction and Pick<\/p>\n
Every game the rest of the regular season is a must-win for Orlando, and I think it\u2019s worth a look on the road against the struggling Pelicans.<\/p>\n
New Orleans has lost seven games in a row by four or more points, including a bad loss to the Sacramento Kings on Friday.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Pelicans have slipped to 20th in the NBA in net rating since the All-Star, and it\u2019s hard to bet on any team that doesn\u2019t have a real incentive to win at this point in the regular season.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Magic are 17-13 when Wagner plays this season, and he should continue to ramp up into a bigger role over the next week.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Orlando has won eight games in a row against New Orleans, including a 10-point win earlier this season. I don\u2019t love either side in this matchup, but we\u2019ve seen over the last few weeks that fading tanking teams \u2013 or teams that are out of the playoff race \u2013 has been pretty lucrative, including a bunch of double-digit favorites covering on Friday night.\u00a0<\/p>\n
