Yaxel Lendeborg has been one of the most impressive NBA Draft prospects in the NCAA Tournament, and he could be the perfect replacement for Andrew Wiggins on the Miami Heat (if they end up parting ways<\/a> with the two-way wing). <\/p>\n

With the chance that Lendeborg could be selected late in the 2026 NBA Draft Lottery, the Heat could be in a perfect position to add the talented wing. <\/p>\n

In Michigan’s National Semifinal game, Lendeborg finished with 11 points and three rebounds on 3-4 shooting from the field and 3-3 from 3-point range. Mind you, Lendeborg did so while dealing with foul trouble and after suffering an ankle injury early in the game. <\/p>\n

For the Tournament, Lendeborg averaged 19 points, six rebounds, and four assists on 60 percent shooting from the field and 50 percent shooting from 3-point range. for the Michigan Wolverines. <\/p>\n

Even though he’s not necessarily one of the sexiest names from this year’s draft class, he’d scream Heat Culture and be a near-perfect fit as a player who could seamlessly replace Wiggins in the rotation. <\/p>\n

Andrew Wiggins could be an odd man out for the Heat <\/p>\n

Even though it’s far from a foregone conclusion that the Heat will part ways with Wiggins this offseason, you’d have to imagine that there’s probably a better chance that is the case than not. <\/p>\n

Wiggins can opt out and test free agency<\/a> if he wants, but he’s more than likely going to exercise his $30 million player option. But that won’t guarantee his spot on the Heat’s roster next season. That’s because if the Heat does explore some big changes to the roster, Wiggins could be a key part of that plan. <\/p>\n

In the event that the Heat makes a big move via trade, Wiggins is one of the big contracts that they could use as a salary filler. Not to mention that his $30 milion expiring contract will be <\/p>\n

Yaxel Lendeborg would be a natural fit for the Heat <\/p>\n

If the Heat do elect to move on from Wiggins via trade (or if he leaves in unrestricted free agency), Lendeborg could be a natural replacement. He’s arguably been Michigan’s best player, and will be one of the more NBA-ready prospects taken outside the top 10. <\/p>\n

Lendeborg’s ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor makes him a natural fit for the Heat. In fact, the argument could be made that even if the Heat keeps Wiggins on the roster, Lendeborg will likely still be on their radar. <\/p>\n

And at 23 years old (with three collegiate seasons), Lendeborg has the experience and maturity to make an impact right away in the right situation at the next level. Miami could very well be that for the Wolverine. <\/p>\n
