The Golden State Warriors<\/a> have made interesting roster moves throughout the 2025-26 campaign, and continued that trend on Sunday morning.<\/p>\n

According to a recent news release, the Warriors signed<\/a> a 6-foot-10 former Boston Celtics<\/a> and Philadelphia 76ers<\/a> center to assist Stephen Curry.<\/p>\n

“The Golden State Warriors have signed center Charles Bassey to a contract,\u201d the organization announced.<\/p>\n

\u201cBassey has appeared in eight games during the 2025\u201326 season with the Memphis Grizzlies<\/a>, Philadelphia 76ers, and Boston Celtics, averaging 2.9 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 6.6 minutes per game.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOver a five-year NBA career, he has averaged 4.2 points, 4.2 rebounds and 10.8 minutes in 121 games (three starts) with the 76ers, San Antonio Spurs<\/a>, Grizzlies and Celtics.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bassey\u2019s signing comes shortly after former Warriors center Omar Yurtseven\u2019s 10-day contract with the franchise expired, and there\u2019s no question it was the right move. With Quentin Post and Al Horford experiencing issues, bringing in a talented two-way frontcourt asset was a no-brainer.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Bassey certainly had his moments with the Celtics, as the Western Kentucky product recorded at least two blocks in two contests and was highly efficient around the rim when scoring opportunities presented themselves.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Bassey contributed 2.8 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 0.4 blocks per game with the Celtics, shooting 62.5% from beyond the arc in five contests.<\/p>\n

Simply put, adding the 25-year-old big man to the fold will give the Warriors the frontcourt assistance they desperately need at the end of the regular season.<\/p>\n
