There is a growing speculation that the Milwaukee Bucks<\/a> could fire Doc Rivers after the season, and they reportedly have a lead candidate waiting in the wings.<\/p>\n

According to\u00a0NBA insider Marc Stein<\/a>, this could be\u00a0Rivers’\u00a0last season at the helm in Milwaukee, and Taylor Jenkins could emerge as the top candidate.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlso growing is an anticipation that Bucks<\/a> coach Doc Rivers and the franchise could be heading for some\u00a0sort of\u00a0parting or job restructuring after such a trying 2025-26 campaign\u2026Former Grizzlies<\/a> coach Taylor Jenkins, who worked for a season as a Bucks assistant to Mike Budenholzer in 2018-19 before Memphis gave him his head coaching shot, has already emerged as a likely prime candidate in Brewtown if the Bucks indeed end up launching a coaching search.\u201d<\/p>\n

Doc Rivers\u2019 Bucks Tenure Marked by Playoff Frustration<\/p>\n

The Bucks hired Doc Rivers midway through the 2023\u201324 season after firing Adrian Griffin just 43 games into his tenure.<\/p>\n

It was a move that came quite as a shock and one that many thought would take the Bucks over the top. However, it’s been a disaster for Rivers and the Bucks. The Indiana Pacers<\/a> eliminated them in back-to-back first-round playoff appearances.<\/p>\n

In total, Rivers has led the Bucks to three playoff wins. While injuries to players like Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard have certainly played a role in the shortcomings, things have not been pretty in Milwaukee.<\/p>\n

Antetokounmpo’s future with the team is unclear, and Milwaukee will do whatever it can to ensure he is a Buck for the rest of his career. If the reports are accurate, they believe Jenkins could be that guy.<\/p>\n
