As they have been one of the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/7175823\/2026\/04\/06\/nba-power-rankings-nuggets-knicks-celtics-lakers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external nofollow\"> top teams in the NBA<\/a> all year, coming with the rise of Wembanyama in his first season, why change what\u2019s worked so far?<\/p>\n<p>With Wembanyama as the key piece of this starting group, the Spurs have prioritized guards and shooting, as well as playmaking in the form of Fox and Castle, to pair with him.<\/p>\n<p>San Antonio does not have any full-time players <a href=\"https:\/\/ak-static.cms.nba.com\/referee\/injury\/Injury-Report_2026-04-06_07_15PM.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external nofollow\">listed on the injury report.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Spurs\u2019 Julian Champagnie Quote On 76ers<\/p>\n<p>In a unique twist, the Spurs vs. 76ers game comes shortly after <a href=\"https:\/\/heavy.com\/sports\/nba\/philadelphia-76ers\/spurs-standout-sends-message-76ers-cut\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Champagnie recently said<\/a> that he was happy he was let go by Philadelphia. Shoutout to Philly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He most recently set the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=vifbxdTIK3U\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external nofollow\">Spurs\u2019 single-season three-point record<\/a>, and the game against the 76ers will likely have a touch of revenge, amid the best season of his NBA career.<\/p>\n<p>Champagnie is averaging 11.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.5 assists on 43.7\/38.6\/84.1 shooting splits in a career-high 27.7 minutes per game.<\/p>\n<p>Only played two total games with the 76ers in the 2022-23 season, but has spent the last four years with the Spurs.<\/p>\n<p>San Antonio Spurs This Season<\/p>\n<p>San Antonio is currently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nba.com\/standings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external nofollow\">59-19 and second in the West,<\/a> only behind the <a href=\"https:\/\/heavy.com\/sports\/nba\/oklahoma-city-thunder\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Oklahoma City Thunder<\/a>. They will likely grab the two-seed for the playoffs, in what will be this group\u2019s first postseason action.<\/p>\n<p>They have already clinched the <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/spurs\/status\/2036269948608168254\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external nofollow\">Southwest Division title<\/a>, the 23rd in franchise history and the first since 2017.<\/p>\n<p>The Spurs are on pace to win 62 games this season.
