Almost every San Antonio Spurs<\/a> fan waited in bated breath during Monday’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers<\/a>. They have been anxiously waiting since Spurs<\/a> superstar Victor Wembanyama exited the game with a rib contusion.<\/p>\n

Considering he is the team’s best player, it is normal for everyone to feel anxious. However, it seems that head coach Mitch Johnson is not too worried about what happened with the team.<\/p>\n

Coach Johnson provides encouraging update on Wembanyama’s injury<\/p>\n

Over the past three seasons, the Spurs have gotten used to seeing Wembanyama shine for them. However, there are also a lot of times when he has gone down with injuries that have hampered the team’s development.<\/p>\n

This season, he has been mostly excellent with his health, with some knocks here and there. It is normal for such a tall player to have those injuries, but getting an injury this close to the Playoffs will have the people sounding their alarms.<\/p>\n

Johnson is not too worried about his players’ injuries because he has already seen some encouraging signs. Since there are only a few games left before the postseason, he would love for everyone to be healthy.<\/p>\n

“I think that it would be positive if he had come back and played the last four or five minutes of the (first) half. That’s a positive from my perspective, but I got nothing,” Johnson said after the Spurs’ game against the 76ers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It is promising that he is confident that his star player is doing fine. Wembanyama continues to be one of the most important players in the league, so having him healthy is a priority for the Spurs.<\/p>\n
