Rookie guard Nolan Traore had one of his best games of the season with 23 points and seven assists while forward Jalen Wilson is once again taking advantage of the extra playing time in this one by dropping 19 points and five rebounds.

The Nets began this matchup about as well as head coach Jordi Fernandez could have expected as Brooklyn scored 35 points while shooting 63.2% from the field and 60.0% from three-point land. At the same time, the Nets held the Wizards to just 36.4% shooting from the floor and 14.3% from behind the three-point line to show how well they were playing on the defensive end of the floor as well.

However, the Wizards woke up in the second quarter as the won the period over the Nets 31-24 thanks to rookie forward Will Riley and his 11 points and two assists in the quarter. From the beginning of the second quarter to the end of the game, Washington shot a blistering 63.2% from the field while Brooklyn shot 44.9%, but players like Traore and Wilson were able to step up in the clutch when the game became close.

Ultimately, the Nets gave up 30 points and six assists to Riley while also allowing players like Jamir Watkins (20 points, eight rebounds) and Julian Reese (17 points, 16 rebounds) to make huge impacts on the tenor of the contest. Thankfully, Brooklyn was able to come away with the victory to elicit some happy feelings before Tuesday’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Need a news break? Check out the all new PLAY hub with puzzles, games and more!Nolan Traore Stands Out

In the second half of this season, Traore has seen more ebbs and flows in his game than he did prior to the All-Star Break, but there are games like this where he continues to show his potential. Within the context of the Wizards not playing the majority of their normal rotation, Traore finished the contest with 23 points and seven assists to just three turnovers.

Jalen Wilson Continues Producing

Wilson is one of the players that the Nets have been giving more playing time to in the wake of multiple injuries and the team officially being eliminated from postseason contention. Wilson, who will be a restricted free-agent this summer, is not only playing for his spot on the team next season, but he could be playing for his overall stock as a free-agent.

Nets Lose Lottery Ground To Wizards

While Nets head coach Jordi Fernandez and the rest of the players are competing to win every game, the organization is trying to get the best odds possible in the upcoming 2026 NBA Draft Lottery. While the Nets still have the third-worst record in the league following their win over Washington, Brooklyn essentially lost two games worth of ground on the Wizards, which could have substantial implications when the Lottery happens in May.

April 6, 2026, 11:01 a.m. ET NEW YORK — The Brooklyn Nets (19-59) were riding a two-game losing streak prior…

[3767
72400,7,670,247,3803,6,671,1100,72503,72504,72404,72507,72505,75139,72444,72422,72405,72483,72406,72428,72403
0":"post-702989","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-brooklyn-nets","8":"tag-accessfree","9":"tag-basketball","10":"tag-brooklyn","11":"tag-brooklyn-nets","12":"tag-brooklynnets","13":"tag-nba","14":"tag-nets","15":"tag-ny","16":"tag-sstssportsnbanets","17":"tag-sstsnnets","18":"tag-tagbasketball","19":"tag-tagbrooklyn","20":"tag-tagbrooklyn-nets","21":"tag-tagjalen-wilson","22":"tag-tagnational-sports","23":"tag-tagnba","24":"tag-tagoverall-positive","25":"tag-tagsmg-listicle","26":"tag-tagsports-news","27":"tag-tagwashington-wizards","28":"tag-typestory
["GET
