The Orlando Magic<\/a> pulled off a big upset of the Eastern Conference-leading Detroit Pistons on Monday, April 6.<\/p>\n

The Magic need every victory they can get during the NBA<\/a> regular season\u2019s stretch run.<\/p>\n

After Monday\u2019s win, Orlando is tied for seventh in the conference and sit just a half-game out of the sixth spot with three games remaining. Furthermore, snagging that sixth position would allow the Magic to bypass the play-in tournament and advance to the NBA playoffs.<\/p>\n

Understandably, Magic players were in a celebratory mood after the 123-107 victory. Star guard Desmond Bane, who scored 25 points, participated in a postgame interview with the Magic TV crew.<\/p>\n

Before it started, though, \u201cAmerica\u2019s Got Talent\u201d judge Howie Mandel jumped in. Specifically, he offered praise for Bane\u2019s performance. Clearly, Bane had no clue about the identity of his admirer. WESH sports director Daren Stoltzfus shared the interaction<\/a> on X.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019ve got talent,\u201d Mandel interjected. \u201cWho am I to judge? That was amazing. That was magic. I\u2019m very excited.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you, brother,\u201d Bane responded, giving Mandel a hesitant fist bump.<\/p>\n

Consequently, the interviewer appeared to sense Bane\u2019s confusion and quickly identified Mandel. \u201cHowie Mandel, \u2018America\u2019s Got Talent.\u2019 He\u2019s impressed by you. That\u2019s a good thing, right?\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor sure, for sure. That\u2019s what\u2019s up,\u201d Bane said.<\/p>\n

Mandel, a 70-year-old Canadian comedian and TV personality, has enjoyed a 50-year entertainment career. Most recently, he has been a judge on \u201cAmerica\u2019s Got Talent\u201d since 2010 and hosts the podcast \u201cHowie Mandel Does Stuff.\u201d Mandel also hosted the game show \u201cDeal or No Deal.\u201d<\/p>\n

Evidently, those platforms are unfamiliar to Bane, who is in his first season with the Magic. During the offseason, the Memphis Grizzlies traded the sixth-year pro to Orlando.<\/p>\n

Bane is averaging 20.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists for the Magic. He ranks tied for second on the team in scoring behind Paolo Banchero\u2019s 22.3 points per game.<\/p>\n
