The NBA’s worst team will not have its best assets on the court for the remainder of the 2025-26 NBA regular season, as the Washington Wizards<\/a> have ruled out<\/a> Anthony Davis<\/a> and Trae Young<\/a> from playing in any of the team’s final three games of the campaign.<\/p>\n

\u201cWizards HC Brian Keefe said Anthony Davis and Trae Young are not expected to play again this season. They tried to ramp AD up, but ran out of time and Trae is behind AD in the process,\u201d Chase Hughes of Monumental Sports Network shared via a social media post on X, formerly Twitter, just before Washington’s game against the Chicago Bulls<\/a> at home on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

It makes a lot of sense for the Wizards<\/a> to just let the two stars sit out whatever’s left of their season. Washington has long been eliminated from contention for a spot in the 2026 NBA Playoffs, and neither Davis nor Young seems to be 100 percent healthy yet.<\/p>\n

Davis was previously cleared for some light contact amid a hand injury, but Washington doesn’t have to force it with him, with only three more games left to play for the Wizards. Davis, traded by the Dallas Mavericks to the Wizards before the February deadline, has yet to play a game for Washington.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Young has back and quad issues and will have to wait until the 2026-27 NBA season to see action again. He played only five games (all starts) with the Wizards after being traded from the Atlanta Hawks.<\/p>\n

The Wizards, who entered Tuesday with a 17-61 record, will play the Bulls again on Thursday at home before hosting the Miami Heat on Friday. Their season finale will be on the road against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday.<\/p>\n
