On Tuesday night, the Toronto Raptors<\/a> will host the Miami Heat<\/a> in Canada.<\/p>\n

The Raptors are coming off a 115-101 loss to the Boston Celtics<\/a> at TD Garden.<\/p>\n

Raptors Announce Signing Of 3-Point Shooter\"\"<\/p>\n

Before Tuesday\u2019s game, the Raptors announced<\/a> that they had signed a new player.<\/p>\n

Josh Lewenberg of TSN wrote (on April 6):<\/a> \u201cRaptors are using their 15th roster spot to sign guard Tyreke Key<\/a>, who spent last couple years with the 905. Averaged 14.9 points\/shot 40% from 3 this year. Means the 2-ways, Martin & Lawson, won\u2019t have their contracts converted before the end of the season or be playoff eligible\u201d<\/p>\n

Key played his college basketball at Indiana State (four seasons) and Tennessee (one season).<\/p>\n

His career averages<\/a> (in college) were 13.1 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists per contest while shooting 43.9% from the field and 36.4% from three-point range in 147 games.<\/p>\n

In the G League, Key has been a very good shooter this season.<\/p>\n

He finished the 2025-26 regular season with averages<\/a> of 16.6 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists per contest while shooting 52.1% from the field and 42.1% from three-point range in 33 games (14 starts).<\/p>\n

Omer Osman of Raptors Updates wrote (on January 8):<\/a> \u201cTyreke Key got inserted into the starting 5 tonight and it has absolutely paid off perfectly for the Raptors 905.<\/p>\n

Not only is he leading the team so far in scoring with 23 points, but he\u2019s also had some good defensive plays as well, contributing 2 steals in the process.\u201d<\/p>\n

Raptors Ahead Of Miami\u2019s Visit To Toronto<\/p>\n

The Raptors have had a strong season as the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 43-35 record in 78 games.<\/p>\n

They are 4-6 over their last ten games (and 21-17 at home).<\/p>\n

Following Tuesday\u2019s game, the two teams will play (again) on Thursday.<\/p>\n

The NBA wrote:<\/a> \u201cSEEDING STAKES IN TORONTO: The Toronto Raptors host the Miami Heat tonight (7:30pm\/et, NBA<\/a> League Pass) and Thursday (7pm\/et, NBA League Pass) in two pivotal Eastern Conference matchups. The No. 6 Raptors lead the No. 10 Heat by two games, with seeds 7-9 sitting a half-game behind Toronto in the chase for a guaranteed playoff spot (top six). Miami needs a victory tonight to remain in contention for a top-six finish.\u201d<\/p>\n
