When it comes to talking about the best players to step on the hardwood, a name that sometimes gets forgotten is Steph Curry<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, former Golden State guard Quinn Cook is ready to place No. 30 among the GOATs.<\/p>\n

Cook played with the Curry and the Warriors for two seasons from 2017-19 and helped the team reach a pair of NBA Finals during that span. He joined FanDuel TV\u2019s \u201cRun It Back\u201d on Tuesday to give his thoughts on the debate and even said his age (born in 1993) plays a part in his beliefs.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Curry is] No. 5 on my list,\u201d Cook said. \u201cHe\u2019s No. 5, like I said, No. 1 point guard, the fifth-best player that I\u2019ve ever seen. No disrespect to the older guys, the [Magic Johnsons], the [Kareem Abdul-Jabbars], the [Larry Birds], I could keep naming them. But I didn\u2019t see it, I didn\u2019t live through it, so I\u2019m just more biased of what I saw, what I lived through, what I talked trash about.\u201d<\/p>\n

Curry is currently 20th in NBA history when it comes to total points scored and is also one of just seven players in league history to have more than 26,000 points as well as over 6,000 assists. The others are LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, James Harden, Russell Westbrook, Oscar Robertson and John Havlicek.<\/p>\n

The 38-year-old Curry made his return to the floor on Sunday after a lengthy 27-game absence that spanned more than two months, and he looked like he hadn\u2019t missed a step.<\/p>\n

The 12-time All-Star dropped 29 points on 11-for-21 shooting while knocking down five 3-pointers in 26 minutes of action during the 117-116 loss to the Houston Rockets<\/a>.<\/p>\n

While Curry and his place among basketball lore can be debated until the end, it’s certain that what the guard has given to Golden State during his tenure is something no other Warrior ever has.<\/p>\n
