Ahead of the contest, the Warriors revealed eight players in their injury report, including Kristaps Porzingis<\/a>. The Latvian star was listed as questionable with knee soreness and is considered day-to-day.<\/p>\n

Porzingis played 22 minutes for the Warriors on Sunday’s 117-116 loss<\/a> to the Houston Rockets<\/a> and had nine points, eight rebounds and three assists. The final stretch of games is crucial for Golden State, as they are hoping that the one-time All-Star can develop an on-court chemistry with Stephen Curry<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Curry has missed 27 straight games due to a knee injury and returned against the Rockets. The Warriors have three games left<\/a> (excluding the Kings match), limiting their time for the star guard and Porzingis to be familiar with each other.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re just trying to gear Steph Curry<\/a> up, get his minutes over 30 by next week, get him some court time with Kristaps Porzingis, who\u2019s only played eight minutes ever with,\u201d Slater said.<\/p>\n

Slater said the Warriors are confident to secure the eighth spot in the Western Conference once they figure things out with Curry and Porzingis. The team is 10th in the standings and will be in the Play-In next week. However, if they make it to the postseason in the eighth spot, they’ll have to face the defending champions, the Oklahoma City Thunder<\/a>, in a seven-game series.<\/p>\n

Porzingis has been productive for the Warriors since they traded for him from the Atlanta Hawks<\/a> before the deadline. The one-time champion has appeared in 13 games,<\/a> averaging 16.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.2 blocks.<\/p>\n

The big man has solved the team’s interior problems. With his 7-foot-2 frame, Porzingis has become the Warriors’ rim protector. Offensively, he has also been a significant factor for the team because of his ability to stretch the floor. He’s another reliable shooter who can space out the defense, which is what head coach Steve Kerr aims for.<\/p>\n

After the game against the Kings, the Warriors will face the Los Angeles Lakers<\/a> on Thursday. A rematch against Sacramento is scheduled on Friday, and they will finish the season on Sunday against the Los Angeles Clippers<\/a>.<\/p>\n
